Good morning! Happy Tuesday!
Thank you to those of you joining us from our other platform. It is a pleasure to have you here! Welcome to our table, and I look forward to passing you a plate soon!
It’s a pleasure to be writing for you all again! Granted, I know what you’re thinking… You went on a hiatus, changed platforms, and now you’re deciding to come back… on April Fool’s Day. This is not a joke; if anything, this is serious, and I am excited to be back. As stated before, we’re back; we’ve switched platforms and are now BACK on Substack.
It feels like walking into a bakery you once loved long ago, and you’re still getting that same smell you got years ago. Granted, it hasn’t been years, only months- same deal.
This year has been a whirlwind of new adventures, changes in my life, and, more importantly, how I perceive food. Food has always been comfort, a celebration, and sometimes just survival. But over these past few months, I’ve seen it as something even more profound- a reflection of where I am in life.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the intersection of nostalgia and exploration. How do the meals we grew up with shape our cravings today? How can a single bite transport us back to a place, time, or feeling? At the same time, food constantly invites us forward, nudging us toward something unfamiliar but exciting.
So, what does that mean for Pass Me a Plate? It means more stories, experiments in the kitchen, and reflections on how food fits into the bigger picture of life. Whether it’s a deep dive into a favorite ingredient, a recipe that carries a memory, or simply musings on the joy of a well-made meal, I’m ready to share it all with you again.
This letter is short and sweet, just a little something to say: I’m back. Consider it an amuse-bouche, a small bite to set the tone for what’s to come. I look forward to getting to know you and writing for you all again.
Can you call it a comeback if I never officially left? Exactly.
Cheers,
Passing you a plate, Ariana
Glad to have you back. Excited for what you got cooking!
